The Test of Faith - Watch Your Words, Part 2

June 10, 2018 Pastor: Verne Nakasone Series: James

Passage: James 3:5–3:8

OVERVIEW:

James introduced this weighty passage with the words, “My brethren” (3:1). He repeats this term again in verse 11. It communicates James’ affection and love for the original recipients. It is a term of endearment and love.

Though this passage about our words and speech is convicting, they are spoken out of love. God’s love is displayed in His concern and instruction to you about what you say. The words we say ought to be connected to love. Love for God and one another is to be the spring from which our words flow.
